Job description

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Schedule Development Review contracts, Invitations to Bid (ITB), project specifications, and other project documents to understand project requirements, execution strategies, schedule constraints, and planning requirements. Develop and implement planning and scheduling strategies, execution methodologies, and schedule management procedures appropriate to the assigned project.

Proactively identify, obtain, validate, and manage information required for schedule development and maintenance. Develop and maintain Project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), including JGC FWBS and PCWBS. Facilitate schedule reviews and coordinate approval processes with project stakeholders, JV/Consortium partners, and clients as required.

Provide planning and scheduling input to Project Execution Plans and project control strategies. Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, including Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 schedules and other planning deliverables as required. Prepare and maintain Basis of Schedule documents, assumptions, and schedule development methodologies.

Schedule Monitoring and Control Monitor project schedule performance and maintain accurate schedule updates throughout the project lifecycle. Analyze schedule progress, trends, variances, and critical path activities. Conduct schedule forecasting and identify potential risks, opportunities, and schedule impacts. Facilitate schedule review meetings with project teams, management, clients, and JV/Consortium partners.

Promote schedule awareness and alignment through presentations, workshops, and stakeholder engagement. Establish and maintain key project milestones and schedule control measures. Support the development of schedule recovery and mitigation plans when required. Progress Measurement and Reporting Develop and implement progress measurement systems, procedures, and methodologies.

Coordinate preparation and approval of Project Control Plans, Progress Measurement Procedures, Reporting Procedures, and related project control documentation. Develop progress curves, performance indicators, forecasts, and reporting tools. Monitor actual progress against approved baselines and planned performance. Prepare and issue periodic and ad hoc project progress reports.

Present schedule status, forecast outcomes, project risks, and recommended actions to project management and clients. Schedule Analysis and Risk Management Perform schedule risk analyses using Primavera Risk Analysis or equivalent tools where applicable. Conduct delay analyses and evaluate schedule impacts arising from project changes, disruptions, or unforeseen events.

Develop recommendations and mitigation strategies to support project decision-making. Support the development and substantiation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims and related contractual schedule analyses as required. Perform scenario analyses and ad hoc schedule studies to support project optimization and management decision-making.

Coordination and Stakeholder Management Coordinate planning and scheduling activities across project functions, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project management, as applicable to the assigned project. Maintain effective working relationships with clients, JV partners, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Lead or support planning and scheduling interfaces with client representatives and facilitate periodic progress review meetings. Provide clear, accurate, and timely planning and scheduling information to support project objectives and stakeholder expectations. Leadership and Team Development Lead or support planning and scheduling teams as assigned.

Coordinate work assignments and monitor team performance where required. Coach, mentor, and support the development of junior planning and scheduling professionals. Promote the consistent application of project control standards, procedures, and best practices. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Planning and Scheduling function.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business and project objectives.

Requirements

Between 15 to 22 years of planning and scheduling experience in major projects within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or related industries. Demonstrated experience supporting proposal, FEED, and EPC projects. Experience in multidisciplinary project environments and project execution organizations. Technical Competencies Advanced knowledge of Project Controls principles and industry practices.

Strong expertise in Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development and implementation. Strong proficiency in Primavera P6. Working knowledge of Primavera Risk Analysis or equivalent risk analysis tools. Strong understanding of project schedule development, critical path analysis, schedule optimization, and forecasting techniques.

Experience with progress measurement, reporting, schedule risk assessment, and delay analysis. Leadership and Business Competencies Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. Ability to work effectively within multicultural and cross-functional teams.

Ability to perform effectively under challenging schedules and dynamic project environments. High ethical standards and accountability. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with international EPC contractors or multinational project organizations. Experience on LNG, Refining, Petrochemical, or large industrial projects. Experience supporting Joint Venture (JV) or Consortium projects. Experience working directly with international clients and multicultural project teams. Professional certifications related to Project Controls, Scheduling, or Project Management.
