Hammond. Care pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of elderly clients living in their home. As a pastoral care volunteer, you’ll be actively involved with a local Christian church, offering comfort, presence, and hope to those who need it most. Can you offer a listening ear and a prayerful heart to someone longing to be heard?

We’re looking for a pastoral care volunteer to visit a thoughtful, spiritually curious man once a fortnight. Though mostly immobile due to health issues, he’s sharp, insightful, and values rich discussion. Whether it's about history, geography, politics, or the deeper questions of life. He identifies as Christian and welcomes open, reflective conversations on faith.

Your presence could be the highlight of his fortnight - bringing conversation, connection, and spiritual companionship. You’ll supplement and complement the work of our Hammond. Care At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may: * Support people to meet their spiritual needs * Nurture spiritual development Skills required for this role:

• High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills.
• Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend Hammond. Care pastoral care training- Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer. Requirements

18 years or older

• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by Hammond. Care
• We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
