Interim Mock Inspection- Essex

Interim Hospice Inspection Consultant Location: Colchester, Essex Contract: Short-Term Interim Assignment Start Date: Immediate Day Rate: Up to £350 per day, depending on experience About the Role We are urgently seeking an experienced Hospice Inspection Consultant to undertake a short-term interim assignment at a hospice in Colchester.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in CQC compliance, quality assurance and healthcare inspections, ideally within a hospice, palliative care or clinical healthcare setting. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CQC Inspector, Quality Consultant or senior healthcare professional who can provide an independent assessment of the service and identify areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the hospice against current CQC regulations and standards. Assess the service across the CQC's five key questions: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. Review clinical governance, safeguarding, medication management, policies and procedures. Identify compliance gaps, risks and areas requiring improvement.

Evaluate leadership, operational processes and overall service quality. Produce a detailed inspection report with clear findings and actionable recommendations. Provide guidance on CQC readiness and quality improvement. Essential Requirements Previous experience conducting CQC inspections, mock inspections or regulatory compliance audits.

Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and inspection frameworks. Experience within hospices, palliative care or regulated healthcare services is highly desirable. Excellent report-writing and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and provide objective, constructive feedback. Immediately available to undertake a short-term interim assignment.
