The Position Hillsboro Aviation’s contract & charter division provides services to the United States Forest Service (USFS), the Department of Interior (DOI), FEMA, large national utility (powerline & infrastructure), and high-tech companies as well as smaller companies and individuals.
Our missions include search and rescue, short-haul (human external cargo, natural disaster relief, construction support, aerial firefighting, natural resource surveys, film/photo/news, and heli-skiing). Our fleet is comprised of Airbus H145D3, Bell 205A-1++, Bell 407, Bell 407HP, and Airbus AS350B3e. As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will work closely with the Support Equipment & Fleet Maintenance team to maintain our rolling stock of helicopter support vehicles ranging from heavy, medium and light equipment during the winter months in our dedicated equipment repair shop.
During the summer, you will be driving a Fuel Service Vehicle traveling with the helicopter crew supporting wildfire missions primarily in the western United States. Your direct supervisor is the Support Equipment Manager. Ideal candidates can work independently within his/her areas of responsibilities under limited supervision, value a strong work ethic and optimistic attitude, maintain a critical eye for detail and organization, and are excited to represent Hillsboro Aviation in front of key customers, including the US Government, community leaders, and business partners.
Job Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, air, and diesel systems and components. Work with Peterbilt, Kenworth, Ram, trailers, and other equipment as assigned. Ensure all work is completed accurately and efficiently to meet the company’s needs. Qualifications/Licenses Must have a class A commercial driver license with tank, hazmat, trailer, airbrakes, and manual transmission endorsement.
Hillsboro Aviation will support the right applicant in obtaining missing endorsements. Required Skills/Experience Must have basic hand and power tools. Proven experience as a Service Technician, Mechanic, or in automotive repair. Proficiency in using power tools and equipment for assembly and repair tasks. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to contribute to a team and to work independently without supervision. Preferred Skills/Experience Have background with using diagnostic tools, Zues Snap on diagnostic tool, Shop Key.
