Job description

As the Director of Life Enrichment at Applewood Village , you will lead the development and delivery of meaningful, person-directed programming for residents across Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing.

We are seeking a creative, compassionate, and organized leader who understands that Life Enrichment is an important part of each resident's overall plan of care. The ideal candidate will have experience working with older adults in a senior living or healthcare setting, including conducting assessments, developing individualized care plans, documenting resident participation, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Life Enrichment programming for Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing residents. Develop and implement engaging, person-directed programs based on residents' interests, preferences, abilities, and individual needs. Conduct resident activity assessments and identify opportunities for meaningful engagement.

Develop and maintain individualized activity plans and care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Provide programming that supports residents' social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual well-being. Develop and adapt activities for residents with dementia, cognitive impairment, and varying physical and functional abilities.

Coordinate entertainment, outings, special events, celebrations, and community programs. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, care plans, participation, and resident progress. Utilize Point. Click. Care or other electronic health record systems to complete required documentation and support resident care planning.

Participate in care conferences and collaborate with Nursing, Social Services, Rehabilitation, Dining, and other departments to support resident-centered care. Build positive relationships with residents and families and incorporate their feedback into programming. Lead, support, and collaborate with the Life Enrichment team to ensure consistent, high-quality programming.

Ensure activities are conducted in a safe, respectful, dignified, and inclusive manner. Maintain compliance with applicable organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Sociology, Gerontology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. Previous experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, and/or Skilled Nursing required. Experience working with residents with dementia and cognitive impairment strongly preferred.

Experience conducting resident assessments and developing individualized activity or care plans required. Experience with Point. Click. Care or a similar electronic health record system strongly preferred. Experience with interdisciplinary care planning and documentation preferred. ADC certification through NCCAP highly desired.

Strong understanding of the needs and interests of older adults. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated leadership ability and experience working collaboratively with a diverse team. Creative, flexible, and able to adapt programming to meet a variety of resident needs and abilities.

Knowledge of senior living and healthcare regulations and compliance requirements preferred. Reliable transportation and ability to commute to Freehold, NJ required. Why Join FellowshipLIFE?
