Job description

Summary Harbor is seeking an Enterprise Project Manager to plan and execute investment product launches and other product events within its Product Implementation Program. Based in the Executive Office, the role partners with Investments, Operations, Product, Distribution, Finance, Legal and Compliance, Marketing, Information Technology, and external service providers translate business requirements into coordinated deliverables.

The Enterprise Project Manager drives work from initiation through implementation readiness, operational handoff, and closeout to advance Harbor’s product offerings and strategic objectives. The Enterprise Project Manager manages multiple concurrent initiatives and improves Harbor’s product implementation playbooks, reporting, and operating processes by applying lessons from completed implementations.

Key Responsibilities

The portfolio includes exchange-traded fund (ETF) launches, conversions, and liquidations; mutual fund launches, mergers, and liquidations; collective investment trust (CIT) launches and share class changes; manager changes; and new Harbor business lines or product capabilities. Lead product initiatives through the full project lifecycle, from intake and planning through implementation and closeout.

Facilitate project intake, scope definition, estimation, and validation. Develop plans that establish deliverables, milestones, owners, dependencies, communications, resource needs, schedules, and applicable budgets. Lead cross-functional teams and external service providers through execution. Translate business and technical requirements into coordinated deliverables, and support testing and implementation readiness when required.

Manage scope, schedules, resources, risks, issues, decisions, and change requests; assess impacts and escalate matters requiring sponsor or leadership attention. Report project status concisely to sponsors, the Senior Program Manager, and key stakeholders. Maintain accurate schedules, dashboards, updates, and project records in Smarsheet or other designated tools.

Refine workflows, standardize repeatable practices, and capture lessons learned. Update implementation playbooks to reflect realistic effort estimates, sequencing, and scheduling assumptions. Coordinate implementation handoff to business operations, confirm closeout activities, and document post-implementation findings and improvement opportunities.

Required Qualifications Five to seven years of relevant project management experience, including responsibility for multiple concurrent projects with cross-functional dependencies and constraints. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or progress toward certification. Practical experience managing the project lifecycle, including project and resource planning, issues, risks, change control, communications, status reporting, and closeout; ability to translate business objectives and requirements into actionable plans, deliverables, and technical workstreams.

Ability to organize complex work, maintain attention to detail, prioritize competing demands in a fast-moving and unpredictable environment, and deliver projects within approved scope, schedule, and budget parameters. Ability to communicate project status, risks, and decisions clearly in writing and verbally with executives, sponsors, business partners, technical teams, and external service providers; listen actively, respect diverse perspectives, and adapt communication to the audience and circumstances.

Experience collaborating across a distributed or matrixed workforce, with facilitation and stakeholder management skills to drive decisions, clarify accountability, and maintain alignment across teams. Experience with waterfall, agile, and hybrid project management approaches. Ability to understand investment product implementation, including the cross-functional requirements, dependencies, and operational considerations associated with launching and modifying ETFs, mutual funds, CITs, separately managed accounts (SMAs), and model portfolios.

Sound judgment in determining when to act independently, seek guidance, or escalate risks, issues, scope changes, and unresolved decisions. Proactive, collaborative approach to solving problems and delivering results, with the ability to apply lessons from prior implementations to future product events. Ability to use project management systems to maintain reliable schedules, dashboards, project updates, and supporting documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in asset management or financial services, with exposure to investment product implementation. Experience managing ETF, mutual fund, or CIT launches and product events such as conversions, mergers, liquidations, share class changes, or manager changes. Experience managing external partners such as subadvisors, custodians, fund administrators, distributors, exchanges, index providers, or platform providers.

Working knowledge of the regulatory, operational, and distribution considerations associated with investment product implementation. Familiarity with enterprise project management platforms and financial services systems; experience with Smartsheet, Teams, SharePoint, or similar tools is a plus. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, project management, or a related discipline.

Compensation

$90,000 - $120,000 This position is a hybrid opportunity based in our Boston or Chicago office. #LI-Hybrid
