Engineering Intern

Engineering Intern- Summer Aguirre & Fields is seeking a civil engineering student intern for our roadway division in our Oklahoma City, OK office. The selected applicant will gain practical experience from various ODOT or county projects that affect the community. This position provides an opportunity to perform bridge and roadway design and detailing tasks under the supervision of a professional engineer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Learn processes and procedures and assist in analysis and design. Provide engineering support assistance as required. Prepare plans utilizing Micro. Station, Open. Roads Calculate projects’ quantities and cost estimates. Conduct project site visits. Complies with all Company policies, procedures, practices, and rules.

Assumes other duties as directed. COMPETENCIES Detail-oriented Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work within a collaborative team environment Excellent written and verbal communication REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES Enrolled and actively in the process of obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an ABET/EAC accredited program.

Completion of two years of a degree program with acceptable academic standing at a recognized educational institution. Experience with Micro. Station or equivalent drafting software. Experience with Excel Spreadsheet & Word.
