License Practical Nurse Emergency Department

Job Description:  Under supervision of an RN, performs a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and re- assesses as per policy.  Provides direct care and indirect patient care services that meet psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care.  Revise plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment.  Assists in formulation of a teaching plan based on identified patient learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning.  Assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills under the direction of the RN.  Meets current documentation standards and policies.  Communicates with Social Services regarding patient needs.
