Associate Professor, Human Services

Job Description: Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a two -year community/technical college that offers more than 75 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs for students who are either seeking quick entry into the workforce or desiring to transfer to a senior institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree.

HGTC offers three convenient campus locations in South Carolina, including Myrtle Beach, Conway, and Georgetown. Horry-Georgetown Technical College seeks a full-time Human Services instructor. The successful candidate will be required to teach Human Services classes at any Horry-Georgetown Technical College campus. This individual will report to the Behavioral and Social Sciences Department and will be responsible for the following duties (this list is not intended to be exhaustive).

Preparing plans for classroom presentation to support instruction Evaluating and assessing Human Services students’ progress based upon Student Learning Outcomes and Program Learning Outcomes Developing program syllabi, Student Learning Outcomes and, in collaboration with department faculty, Program Learning Outcomes Evaluating students’ progress based upon Student Learning Outcomes and Program Learning Outcomes Developing and implementing plans to improve student success rate Preparing and maintaining all required documentation and administrative reports Maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences Ensuring safety and security requirements for students in Human Service classes, as appropriate Meet with students to discuss progress and support staff, if appropriate Providing academic advisement to students Participating in academic term registrations Duties include maintaining the required teaching load.

Must be willing to teach any modality, and day or evening offerings as required. Advertised Salary: Salary is commensurate with education and work experience.
