Substitute Teacher

Substitute Teacher 2026-2027 School Year Qualifications NJ Substitute Credential (Minimum of 30 completed college semester-hour credits from an accredited college or university) NJ Instructional Teaching Certificate (CE, CEAS, or Standard Certificate) Background Check Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills; ability to follow lesson plans provided by certified staff Responsibilities Execute lesson plans provided by the absent teacher; maintain existing classroom schedules, routines, and educational goals.

Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly learning environment conducive to student engagement and success. Maintain accurate daily attendance records and leave notes regarding student progress and lesson completion for the returning teacher. Comply with all district guidelines, building regulations, and state educational policies, maintaining confidentiality regarding student records.
