Senior Operations Manager
Job description
Cortrol Process Systems is a leading provider of corrosion-resistant solutions for the chemical process industry. Since our founding in 1971, we've expanded operations across the Midwest and Gulf Coast regions and built a comprehensive product offering that ranges from fiberglass piping and tanks to lined steel equipment and custom fabrications.
Our commitment to quality is a cornerstone of our culture, and we partner only with industry-leading manufacturers. We offer professional project planning, installation, and repair services and our expert technicians bring exceptional craftsmanship to every project. For Cortrol customers, product availability and fast delivery are critical to completing projects and maintaining uninterrupted operations.
Our four strategically located warehouses are stocked with a wide range of products to meet that need and help ensure critical parts are readily available. Cortrol recently joined the Harrington family of companies, making it part of the country’s leading provider of process control solutions. This strategic move expands our capabilities, allowing Cortrol to offer a wider array of solutions to our clients across a broad range of industries.
Being part of the national Harrington family also offers our employees enhanced career mobility and new opportunities to learn and grow. Great operations don't happen by accident—they're built by leaders who know how to develop people, improve processes, and execute with discipline. At Cortrol Process Systems, we're looking for a hands-on Senior Manager, Operations who is energized by leading teams, solving operational challenges, and creating an environment where safety, quality, and performance thrive.
This isn't a role where you'll sit behind a desk reviewing reports. You'll be on the floor, coaching leaders, improving workflows, partnering with cross-functional teams, and helping shape the future of our fabrication operations. If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, building high-performing teams, and making a measurable impact every day, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Own As our Senior Manager, Operations, you'll serve as the operational leader for our Tulsa fabrication facility, responsible for ensuring the business runs safely, efficiently, and profitably. You'll: Lead daily manufacturing and fabrication operations while creating a culture built on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Coach and develop supervisors and future leaders, helping your team grow while delivering exceptional performance. Drive operational excellence by improving productivity, reducing waste, increasing throughput, and strengthening quality. Balance production schedules, staffing, capacity, and customer commitments to keep operations running smoothly.
Partner with Sales, Project Management, Quality, Shipping, Maintenance, and Finance to deliver outstanding customer experiences. Use data to identify opportunities, solve problems, and make informed operational decisions. Champion safety as a core value—not just a priority. Help shape the future of the business by contributing ideas, improving processes, and leading change.
What Success Looks Like You're the type of leader who naturally earns trust. You believe the best ideas can come from anyone on the team. You enjoy developing people just as much as improving processes. You stay calm under pressure, make thoughtful decisions, and know how to keep multiple priorities moving without losing sight of quality or customer expectations.
You don't wait for problems to become someone else's—you step in, solve them, and leave the operation stronger than you found it. What You Bring 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or production. Experience leading supervisors, managers, or cross-functional teams. Proven success improving safety, productivity, quality, delivery performance, and operational efficiency.
Strong business acumen with experience managing labor, inventory, and operational costs. Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at every level of the organization. A passion for coaching others and building high-performing teams. Experience using ERP systems, Microsoft Office, operational reporting tools, and emerging AI technologies to improve efficiency.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience). Why Cortrol? At Cortrol Process Systems, you'll join a team that values collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. As part of the Harrington family of companies, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while helping drive the next chapter of our growth.
We're looking for a leader who isn't satisfied with maintaining the status quo—someone who sees opportunity in every challenge, develops people to reach their full potential, and takes pride in building an operation that others want to be part of. If that sounds like you, we'd love to start the conversation. This version is designed to attract stronger leaders because it sells the opportunity rather than simply describing the job.
It speaks to candidates who want to build, lead, and leave a legacy, which is often what motivates high-performing operations managers. It also reads more like a conversation, helping candidates picture themselves in the role before they even apply.
