Overview

The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is seeking a full time Substance Use Counselor to join our Goldman Clinic , one of Philadelphia’s oldest and largest outpatient drug and alcohol treatment programs. The Goldman Clinic provides comprehensive outpatient , intensive outpatient (CAP IOP) , and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services, including methadone, Suboxone, and Vivitrol.

Services are delivered in a structured, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive environment, with specialized programming for Spanish-speaking participants. This role is ideal for counselors who want consistent daytime hours and the opportunity to make a direct impact in a well-established outpatient treatment setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments, biopsychosocial evaluations, and individualized treatment plans
• Provide individual counseling and facilitate group therapy sessions
• Lead psychoeducation, relapse prevention, and recovery focused groups
• Support clients enrolled in outpatient, CAP IOP, and MAT services
• Document all clinical services and progress notes in the Electronic Health Record
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and clinical supervision
• Coordinate referrals, aftercare planning, and community support services
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements Qualifications
• Associate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in substance use treatment, counseling, or human services
• Experience working in outpatient, methadone, or MAT programs strongly preferred
• Knowledge of addiction recovery, co-occurring disorders, ASAM criteria, and trauma-informed care
• Strong group facilitation, documentation, and clinical assessment skills
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records and Microsoft Office
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred
• Relevant certification or licensure preferred but not required Why Join Us
