Army Integration & Strategy Lead
Location: Torrance, CA; Washington, DC; and remote options considered Travel: 25–50% Clearance: Active Top Secret or ability to obtain one
About the Role
Castelion is seeking an Army Integration & Strategy Lead to own the operational adoption, fielding strategy, and service integration of Castelion capabilities across the U.S. Army.
This individual will serve as Castelion’s primary operational integration with the Army, translating emerging capabilities into executable concepts for employment, fielding, training, and sustainment alongside government partners. The role will work across Army headquarters, operational formations, and acquisition organizations to ensure Castelion products are designed, integrated, and delivered around real warfighter requirements.
The Army Integration & Strategy Lead will work closely with Castelion’s engineering, program management, weapons integration, readiness, and campaign employment teams. This is not a traditional business development role. The successful candidate will be expected to understand how the Army fights, how new capabilities transition into operational formations, and what is required to move a weapon system from demonstration to sustained operational use.
Responsibilities
- Own Castelion’s Army capability adoption strategy, developing the roadmap from initial demonstrations and experimentation through fielding, operational employment, and sustained use.
- Develop Army operational concepts, CONOPs, employment concepts, and fielding strategies for Castelion capabilities.
- Serve as Castelion’s operational interface for exercises, planning efforts, and wargames with Headquarters, Department of the Army; Army Service Components of the COCOMS; MDC-PAC, MDC-E, MDTFs; and other operational fires formations.
- Coordinate engagement with Army doctrinal and operational units (e.g., Fires FCD, TID, FASCOM, PAE Fires) to identify requirements, employment considerations, training needs, and barriers to fielding.
- Translate Army operational requirements and warfighter feedback into actionable priorities for Castelion's engineering, product, program management, and weapons integration teams.
- Advocate internally for Army operational requirements and ensure technical and programmatic decisions account for how soldiers will employ, maintain, transport, and sustain the capability.
- Develop and refine tactics, techniques, procedures, training concepts, and mission-planning workflows required for operational employment.
- Plan and support Army and joint experiments, demonstrations, exercises, and operational evaluations, including the integration of Castelion capabilities into broader fires and targeting architectures.
- Identify opportunities to accelerate fielding by leveraging existing Army organizations, authorities, exercises, and operational demand.
- Represent Castelion with senior Army and joint leaders and clearly communicate technical capabilities, operational concepts, integration challenges, and recommended courses of action.
- Build the institutional relationships and operational understanding necessary to transition Castelion capabilities from prototype to program to warfighting capability.
Ideal Candidate
The strongest candidate will combine Army operational credibility with the ability to operate across the Pentagon, acquisition community, technical teams, and operational formations.
- Former Army officer or warrant officer with the seniority, operational credibility, and breadth of experience typically associated with an O-5, O-4, or CWO ideally with experience across operational and acquisitions communities.
- Deep understanding of Army fires, targeting, operational planning, and multi-domain operations.
- Operational fires background strongly preferred, including experience with field artillery, long-range precision fires, targeting, or related mission areas.
- Experience working with key Army Fires organizations such as the Fires FCD, TID, PAE Fires, MDC-PAC, MDC-E, MDTFs, FASCOM or Army headquarters.
- Demonstrated ability to understand Army capability-development and fielding processes and translate emerging technology into operational capability.
- Experience working across multiple Combatant Commands and within joint operational environments.
- Comfortable working directly with engineers and program managers and translating between warfighter requirements and technical constraints.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing senior military and civilian leaders.
- Ability to operate independently in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment and build a service integration effort from the ground up.
- Active Top Secret clearance required
- Willingness to travel approximately 25–50% to Army installations, exercises, demonstrations, and customer engagements.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first year, this person should have established a coherent Army adoption and fielding roadmap, built durable relationships across Army operational and institutional stakeholders, translated Army requirements into concrete internal priorities, and created credible pathways for Castelion capabilities to participate in Army exercises, experimentation, and operational fielding.
