Job description

Title: Supervisor- Design Department: Customer Support

  • Design Employment Type: Full-time The Supervisor of Design will lead and influence creative talent to achieve departmental and project goals through professional communication, consistent messaging and organized creative processes.

Responsibilities include

managing teams dedicated to client-side and internal design initiatives such as developing process workflows and overseeing employee development paths. Additional responsibilities include representing the Design Team perspective, goals and deliverables in meetings across multiple cross functional teams, including Marketing, Product Development, Engineering, and Client Support.

This is a management level position.

Essential Functions

Allocate department resources to best meet client needs and support internal initiatives Ensure that the quality of work produced by the Design Team meets the company’s high standards through creative direction, trainings, and analytics Develop and implement cost-cutting and efficiency increasing initiatives Work with Product Team in development of products and services related to the Design Team Handle client and partner calls, communicating complex material in a digestible way Remain ahead of industry trends and inform teams of modern design and development techniques Act as point of escalation for complex design tasks and interdepartmental issues Develop, monitor, and report on key departmental statistics and metrics Design process workflows and training programs for Design Team Offer suggestions for departmental growth and work directly with Executive Team to facilitate growth Requirements Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Web Design or related field Meeting with management teams to determine project needs 8-10 years’ experience in the design field or career Relevant experience in responsive web design Knowledge of the latest trends in design and front-end website development (Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, SASS etc.)

Strong fundamental HTML/CSS/JS skills (applicants should be able to hand-code, we do not use WordPress, PHP, etc.) Strong understanding of design principles: typography, color theory, and layout Prior supervisory or management experience Portfolio of work showcasing strong design fundamentals Experience with Adobe products such as Photoshop Preferred Skills/Experience: Knowledge of the automotive industry Experience working with Content Management Systems Experience using Workflow Management Systems such as JIRA Working knowledge of SEO, SEM, and other web marketing practices Competencies: Outstanding leadership and organization skills Exemplary analytical abilities Communication Proficiency Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently
