Job description

The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in industrial and commercial environments. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, technical expertise, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in demanding offshore and field environments.

ESSENTIAL Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems. Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints. Perform routine and preventive electrical maintenance. Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, motors, and other electrical components. Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues using appropriate testing equipment.

Repair or replace electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures, and components as required. Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable state and local regulations. Perform corrective maintenance on circuit breakers and electrical distribution systems. Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Utilize a variety of electrical testing instruments and diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve issues. Maintain a safe work environment and follow all company safety policies and procedures. Complete assigned work orders, maintenance records, and reports accurately and in a timely manner. Support operational activities as required, including work performed offshore, on vessels, and at customer locations.

REQUIRED Proven experience as an Electrical Technician, Electrician, or in a similar role. Experience working with industrial and/or commercial electrical systems. Demonstrated ability to use electrical and hand tools, including wire strippers, multimeters, voltmeters, and related equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.

Thorough knowledge of electrical safety procedures, regulations, and industry standards. Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent physical condition with the ability to work extended shifts, including nights and weekends when required.

DESIRED High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Diploma in a relevant vocational program, technical training, or successful completion of an electrical apprenticeship. Ability to obtain rigging and forklift certifications. Valid Passport, Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC), and Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

HVAC troubleshooting and maintenance experience. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Journeyman or Master Electrician License (where applicable). Working Conditions Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water. Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment. Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels and the light is intense/glare.

Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks. Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases. Work surface is stable, height is elevated.
