Position Title: Pressroom Lead/ Backup Litho Printing Press Operator (K&B & KBA Presses) Pay Rate: $36.56/hr. Category/Shift: Hourly Full-Time (Monday-Friday, 10 pm - 6 am) Physical Location: Conway Graphics 730 Enterprise Ave. Conway, AR 72032 The Job You Will Perform: Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote safe work practices and encourage compliance with all safety policies, PPE requirements, and environmental standards.
- Lead by example in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Identify, correct when possible, and promptly report safety hazards, unsafe conditions, and near misses to supervision.
- Provide initial assistance during workplace incidents and promptly notify the appropriate supervisor or manager.
- Support emergency response efforts, including the use of available first aid and emergency equipment, as trained.
- Assist with incident fact gathering and documentation by providing timely and accurate information to leadership.
- Reinforce safety expectations during shift start-up meetings, job assignments, and daily operations.
- Participate in safety observations, audits, inspections, and training activities as assigned.
- Encourage employee involvement in safety initiatives and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a safety resource for team members by answering basic questions and directing concerns to appropriate leadership. Operational Leadership & Coordination
- Coordinate pressroom production activities across Prepress, Sheeters, Press, and Stackdown to optimize workflow and efficiency.
- Partner with supervisors to align downstream production expectations, scheduling, and throughput goals.
- Lead pressroom communications, training, and performance expectations for press crews.
- Ensure all jobs meet quality and quantity standards while adhering to customer specifications.
- Manage waste tracking, reporting, and cost control initiatives.
- Maintain documentation including production records, EOS reports, and material usage tracking. Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Enforce quality control (QC) procedures, including sample pulls and adherence to QC manual standards.
- Evaluate sample sheets and maintain documentation for GMI and ISO compliance.
- Support standardization efforts including color management, consistency, and process control. Equipment & Technical Oversight
- Troubleshoot lithographic offset press and mechanical issues; escalate to Maintenance or OEM support as required.
- Ensure completion of preventative maintenance (IES/ZES) in accordance with Safety and operational standards.
- Support continuous machine reliability and performance improvements. Backup Press Operator Responsibilities
- Operate lithographic offset presses as needed to support production and staffing requirements.
- Perform all duties associated with 1st Press Operator role including setup, operation, troubleshooting, and quality control. Additional Responsibilities
- Lead or participate in special projects, trials, and process improvements.
- Maintain housekeeping standards aligned with 5S/6S practices.
- Complete required training (Safety, OSHA, equipment, SDS, etc.).
- Perform other duties as assigned. Technical Skills Required
- Ability to perform all functions of a 1st Press Operator.
- Advanced knowledge of lithographic press systems (K&B, KBA) and related mechanical functions.
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities across press systems and print quality issues.
- Proficiency in:
- Color management (Cielab, TVI, dE, G7, grayscale standardization)
- Spectrophotometer usage
- Press control systems and software (Qualtronics, Logotronics, Kiwi FFF)
- Working knowledge of:
- Fountain solution chemistry (pH, conductivity)
- Ink/water balance and emulsification control
- Plate sensitivity, toning, misting, slinging, and dampening systems
- Ability to perform mechanical adjustments including roller settings, bearing replacement, and press calibration.
- Ability to use precision measurement tools (micrometer, durometer, gauges).
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations, conversions, and measurements.
- Ability to visually distinguish primary colors. Hours of Work Work hours are dependent on assigned shift and production demands. Overtime and on-call responsibilities may be required Job Requirements

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification with a clean driving record.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean workspace in accordance with 5S/6S standards.
- Compliance with all company policies and the International Paper handbook.
- Must be reliable and prepared to begin work at the designated shift time.
