Qualifications

Role & Responsibilities: As the Head lifeguard you will have the responsibility of maintaining a safe aquatics environment for all of our patrons, as well as ensuring our pool is well-maintained + managed. Responsibilities

Serve as a representative of Chelsea Piers, demonstrating a positive attitude and progressive actions through the display of professionalism, courtesy, and appropriate tact and discretion in all interactions with other employees and with our members Prevent accidents through the enforcement of policies, rules, regulations, and ordinances governing the conduct of swimming pool patrons; watch activities in the water and on swimming pool decks for individuals who may need assistance or guidance Rescue persons in distress and render the latest approved First Aid and CPR if necessary Maintain a high level of communication with patrons, staff, supervisors Follow all applicable safety rules and regulations Assist in cleaning the pool, pool area, and hot tub as assigned Performance of duties in accordance with established safety regulations and policies Perform pool maintenance including cleaning, chemical adjustments, and repairs Assist the Operations Manager to oversee all pool operations Provide input and feedback while responding to problems Assist in pool operations and miscellaneous duties as assigned Ability & flexibility to cover callouts Manage monthly team in-service trainings Facility CPR reviews Monitor 200-meter swim tests Swim Training & Coaching: Conducts up to 5 hours per week in paid training Conducts up to 5 hours per week in coaching classes Qualifications: Lifeguard certification 5+ years with lifeguard experience, preferred 30+ hours/week Professional Rescuer certification Lifeguard Management Certification Water Safety Certification CPO certification Lifeguard Instructor Certification, preferred Positive, can-do and joyful attitude with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Community-minded Excellent communicator Proactive problem solver 100% reliable Strong written and verbal communication skills
