Fabricator/ Painter
Job description
Standard Job Description Multiple Shifts You will be the Fabricator / Painter for the Machining Operations Center (MOC). Our team is responsible for precision machining, component installation, chemical conversion coating, and painting. What You Will Be Doing As the Fabricator / Painter you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality coated and finished components that meet stringent aerospace specifications.
Your responsibilities
Apply finish protective coatings using spray guns or brushes, both air‑dry and baked. Operate sandblasting and tumble‑blast equipment to remove scale, corrosion, and contaminants. Mix, thin, and apply paints, lacquers, and enamels to meet color and performance standards. Set up and run spray‑painting equipment, monitoring viscosity and ensuring consistent coverage.
Clean and prepare parts, including electro‑plating cleaning and surface inspections.
Basic Qualifications
Ability to apply finish protective coatings, spray guns and/or brushes, operates spray painting equip, optical bonding fabrication, ablative processing equipment, tape-wrapper, autoclaves, bonding, mixes paints, and lacquers. Must have the ability to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 3x12 weekend "D" shift- as required in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
Desired Skills Technical school training in auto painting, precision masking/cutting operations. 5-8 years' experience as fabricator. 67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
