As a Software Engineer, you will report directly to a Development Director and collaborate closely with producers, designers, artists, and fellow engineers.

You will tackle complex technical challenges across game mode logic, user interface architecture, online systems, and developer tools to bring exciting new features to life.

Your Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with client and server engineers to architect, integrate, and test end-to-end features across platforms. Service & API Design: Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable REST-based APIs and online backend integrations. UI Engineering: Partner with UI/UX designers and technical artists to build responsive, intuitive interface experiences using the game’s UI tech stack.

High-Quality Code: Write clean, reliable, and testable code, participating actively in code reviews, debugging, and continuous maintenance. Technical Design: Draft clear technical design documents, architectural diagrams, and specifications for upcoming game systems and features. Continuous Improvement: Proactively champion software engineering best practices, helping to optimize workflows, tooling, and team processes.

Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Partner effectively with both technical and non-technical teammates across local and distributed studio teams. Your Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or a related technical discipline), or equivalent practical industry experience. Industry Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of applying modern development best practices.

C++ Mastery: Solid command of modern C++, including strong architectural awareness, memory management, and performance optimization. Architecture & Services: Firm grasp of object-oriented design patterns, networking fundamentals, and RESTful service integrations. Formats & Tooling: Familiarity with data exchange formats (JSON, XML), version control workflows (e.

g., Perforce/Git), and IDEs like Visual Studio. Codebase Stewardship: Comfort navigating, refactoring, and mitigating risk within large-scale existing codebases. Bonus Points (Nice to Have) Prior experience developing or supporting high-concurrency live-service games . Familiarity with multi-platform deployment (console, PC, mobile/web).

For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.

Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and other incentive programs.
