Clinic, Surgery, and Call coverage with OBGYN/Midwife department The Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) assists providers and staff by collecting pertinent patient information needed to determine physical and psychological needs. This includes addressing and identifying health problems, performing selected treatments, aiding in diagnostic testing and/or procedures, assisting with non-invasive and invasive surgical procedures, and routine clinical duties.

The CSA functions as a member of the healthcare team with responsibilities commensurate with training, scope of practice, and demonstrated competencies. Direct patient care is provided to patients of varying ages.
