Active Older Adult Group Exercise Instructor

We're looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Group Fitness Instructor to lead a fun, active adult-focused class designed for all fitness levels. The ideal candidate will create engaging workouts that incorporate cardio, strength, conditioning, flexibility and balance, using easy-to-follow movements and motivating music.

As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will: Teach an active adults class combining aspects of strength, conditioning, balance and flexibility. Lead energizing, fun and safe class Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members and program participants connect with each other and the YMCA.

Observes and adjusts approach to support all participants’ capabilities, physical conditions, health, and culture. Ensure the proper equipment is available. Record accurate class attendance.

Qualifications

Must be able to teach Monday & Thursday in the morning, preferably at 10a. Current Group Fitness Certification from a nationally recognized organization Minimum 1-year consistent teaching experience is preferred. Certifications subject to annual audit Abuse Prevention Responsibilities All employees are expected to maintain boundaries, follow mandated reporting requirements, and uphold our policies and procedures to protect youth and participants.

This includes attending required training, reporting suspicious or inappropriate behaviors, and adhering to procedures that minimize risk. Supervisors are also responsible for providing oversight, feedback, and accountability to ensure staff and volunteers follow these standards.
