Substitute Food Service Worker

We are seeking dependable and flexible Substitute Food Service Workers to assist with school cafeteria operations at various locations throughout the school district. This is an on-call position, with work available as needed. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel between school locations within Monmouth County.

Schedule and Benefits

• Monday through Friday, day shift
• No weekends or holidays
• Summers off
• Flexible, on-call schedule

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with food preparation and meal assembly.
• Serve meals to students in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cashier duties.
• Stock, organize, and rotate food and supplies.
• Wash dishes and clean kitchen, serving, and dining areas.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with other cafeteria duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Flexible and available to work on an as-needed basis.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to different school locations within the district.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Previous food service experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to obtain required documentation and clearances to work in a school setting.
