Job description
This role is critical in converting monthly trade flow requirements into optimized, cost-effective transport plans that support LAI’s margin objectives. The successful candidate will be based in DRC Responsibilities Manage local trucking business in Kolwezi for Cu going to the warehouse for rail transport to Lobito, and sulphur going the other way Currently at > 30,000 MT per month with 8 LSPs, and forecast to double by year end Plan for uplift between LSPs and forecast and report the plan to the team and customers
- Daily tracking and reporting showing progress Identify any areas of shortfall and inform + propose solutions Follow up with mines for loading plans and release of documents Ensuring warehouse plans are aligned with Train plans Experience and Qualifications Tertiary Degree 5+ years of experience in commodities trading or similar fast-paced trading environment Knowledge of multimodal transport (road, rail,) Familiarity with in-transit warehouse operations Strong Logistics Operations skill set. Competencies Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellente communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Commercial acumen and cost optimization mindset -
