Network Engineer Contract | Budapest, Hungary | Hybrid We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join a network engineering team based in Budapest. This is a contract role with a hybrid working arrangement, supporting campus and branch network infrastructure for a large enterprise environment. The Role You will work within the network engineering function, taking ownership of requirements analysis, solution design, and delivery for wired and wireless network environments.

You will collaborate across technology and infrastructure teams and help establish design standards and configuration patterns.

  • Evaluate requirements and identify suitable network solutions, with a primary focus on campus and branch wired and wireless infrastructure
  • Collaborate with technology and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Contribute to the development of high-level design patterns, standards, and configuration templates
  • Develop execution and test plans for network changes Requirements Essential Technical Skills
  • 5–7 years of experience in a system integrator or enterprise network environment
  • Solid routing and switching knowledge: OSPF, BGP, MPLS, RSTP, Ether. Channel
  • Hands-on experience with the Cisco Catalyst product line (Catalyst 9000 preferred)
  • Strong understanding of network security techniques: IPSec, MACsec, MAB/802.1x
  • Good working knowledge of wireless networking (Cisco preferred)
  • Conceptual understanding of QoS
  • Scripting capability in Bash and/or Python
  • Experience with Ansible for network automation Desirable Technical Skills
  • Experience with overlay-based solutions: SDWAN, SD-Access, ACI, EVPN-VXLAN
  • Exposure to IoT network environments
  • Knowledge of endpoint profiling tools: Cisco ISE, Armis, Forescout
  • Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center (formerly DNA Center)
  • Familiarity with Terraform and/or Netconf
  • Experience using Ekahau for wireless survey and design What We're Looking For
