Specter Aerospace is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 1 to join our engineering team. In this role, you will support the design and development of mechanical components and systems, taking responsibility for specific parts and assemblies throughout the design process. The ideal candidate is a motivated engineer with a strong passion for mechanical design and innovative problem‑solving.

About Specter Aerospace Specter Aerospace is building the next generation of hypersonic vehicles for U.S. Forces and Allies. With offices in Boston and Peabody, MA, Specter leverages its advanced propulsion technologies, manufacturing, and testing capabilities to rapidly develop supersonic and hypersonic systems. Our Mechanical Engineer I will be based in our Boston (Seaport) office.

Funded by a mix of government R&D organizations and private funding, Specter is expanding its team in preparation for flight testing and full-scale production. Role & Responsibilities Work in a rapid paced environment, de signing systems and parts for hypersonic flight vehicles Generating practical solutions to open-ended engineering problems Create drawings for manufacturing release End - to - end o wnership of vehicle subsystems seeing them through prototype, test and production Analysis of components within a flight vehicle Work between disciplines to efficiently design and optimize novel flight systems to meet internal and customer performance requirement s Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related fields Proficiency using CAD s oftware (Solid.

Works preferred) Comfort with project autonomy and fast-paced work environments Strong collaborative skills and a drive to produce quality work Fundamental understanding of mechanical engineering principles ( statics, materials, thermo /fluids , etc … ) Available for up to 10% travel for test activities Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance (U.
