Job description
ABOUT THE POSITION National 8th is looking for a Dishwasher to fill out their team on a part-time permanent basis. It is essential that you enjoy a fast-paced work environment and feel comfortable working both alone, and/or within a team. Must have availability on weekends. WHO WE ARE National on 8th is perfectly located in the heart of downtown.
Situated in Stephen Avenue Place. National on 8th boasts western Canada’s largest rooftop patio! Soak up the sun while playing a round of cornhole or ping pong. The +30 interior space features smaller seating arrangements, and a private room, to accommodate business lunches and intimate gatherings.
WHAT WE OFFER
$16.00 to $18.00/hour Gratuities Duty meals Extended health benefits after 90 days for employees working 28+ hours per week 25% Company-wide food & beverage discount & access to frequent local business discounts/specials WHAT YOU'LL DO Ensure a clean and sanitary stock of dishes, utensils, glasses, pots/pans, and cooking equipment is consistently available for kitchen and food service.
Sort, stack, and load dirty dishware into dish racks in an organized manner to maximize machine capacity and reduce breakage. Operate dishwashing equipment in a safe and controlled manner. Unload dishware, distributing and storing in designated storage areas. Maintain ongoing communication with all departments affecting the kitchen.
Aid kitchen staff in food prep. Ensure the highest level of hygiene and food safety is adhered to according to the restaurant’s standards. Ensure that the dishwashing area and equipment is always maintained at the highest level of cleanliness. Consistently conduct yourself in a professional and positive manner. Aid in maintaining department objectives and ensure they are met and exceeded.
Perform other related ad-hoc duties as required. WHAT YOU HAVE No previous experience required. Strong organizational and time management skills required. Strong English communication skills with ability to establish and develop relationships with team members, partners, and customers. WHMIS Certification is required but can be obtained once hired.
Food Safe Certification is required but can be obtained within 30 days of being hired. Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations. Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
