Mental Health Peer Support Specialist (KRCC - Breathitt Health & Wellness)

POSITION : Mental Health Peer Support Specialist WORKSITE : Breathitt County Health and Wellness EMPLOYMENT TYPE : Regular Full-Time DEGREE : High School/GED peer support certification or complete peer support training upon hire approved by Department of Behavioral Health. SPECIAL SKILLS : Be a self identified person with history of mental illness, who has received treatment.

JOB DUTIES : Use relevant personal stories to teach through experience. Serve as a role model for clients. Encourage client voice and choice during development and implementation of treatment planning. Support clients while receiving mental health services. Empower clients to be self-advocates. Help clients enhance relationships with community partners.
