Direct Support Professional- Columbus, IN

Description The nature of the job of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is to provide 1:1 care to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities at home and in the community. This is a part time position with the following shifts available: -Monday evenings 6:30-8:45p -Monday, Wednesday, Friday mornings 9:30-12p -Thursdays or Fridays 9a-1p, one Saturday per month -one or two additional 2 hours shifts available per week upon candidate availability Requirements All DSPs will assist individuals supported with one or more of the following: self-care, self-direction, expressive or receptive language, ambulation or mobility, activities of daily living (ADLs), learning, independent living, economic self-sufficiency, physical activity, or community participation.

All DSPs will document work records via Accel. Trax with mandatory clocking in and out using Electronic Visit Verification if applicable. Work records will include a narrative note for each shift with what was done to assist the individual, the individual's whereabouts, and the duration of the activities. Progress notes will also include and option to select goals worked on.

All DSPs will be trained on the Indiana Home and Community Support Professional standards with additional training as needed on Behavior Support Plans, Risk Plans, or Medication Administration. All DSPs will be trained on and expected to complete Incident Reporting as needed.
