Staff Accountant About the Role As a Staff Accountant at Jones Square, you will provide varied accounting services to multiple clients, supporting their day-to-day financial operations. You will be an extension of each client’s financial team, helping ensure accurate, timely, and well-organized accounting records. Success in this role looks like consistently meeting deadlines, maintaining high accuracy in reconciliations and reporting, and communicating clearly with clients to support smooth, reliable financial workflows.

Duties & Responsibilities Enter bank and credit card transactions accurately and in a timely manner. Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and other account transactions. Process payroll, including quarterly and year-end reporting, W-2s, and 1099s. Prepare and file sales tax returns for multiple states.

Manage Accounts Payable by entering bills and matching them to PO’s. Calculate commissions in accordance with client agreements and reporting needs. Create and maintain customer invoicing records and support billing processes. Review and support time tracking records to ensure accurate reporting and billing. Support Accounts Receivable activities, including maintaining accurate client balances and documentation.

Collaborate with team members to ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule.

Requirements

0–3 years of accounting experience. Strong work ethic with a commitment to accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines. QuickBooks experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to communicate effectively with clients via telephone, email, and in-person.

Ability to work independently with general supervision and also function as a team player. Exceptional customer service skills.

Benefits
