Field Service Technician
Job description
The specific pay rate and level, if applicable, will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications, prior experience and location. “A Day In the Life” As a Field Service Technician you will maintain modular equipment at the branch and in the field at customer sites. You will oversee and train the contractors working on site at the branch.
You will perform problem solving maintenance for but not limited to mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. You will also perform routine maintenance, cleaning and construction in the field of modular buildings. Update and record information on company assets and systems. Perform routine evaluations of work to be performed.
Safely operate Company provided vehicle (<10,000lbs GVW) to travel to various locations and service modular and related equipment. Duties include installing and repairing equipment, and training customer employees on how to maintain machinery. Perform trial run of machinery to ensure performance rates and quality meet established specifications while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Work independently at the branch while updating leadership on project progress daily. Order supplies needed for the location and for service calls. Responsible for the safety, quality and productivity of themselves at all customer locations Responsible for positive interface with the customer and ensuring the company’s reputation is improved with every customer contact Maintain inspection log(s) for equipment/vehicle and properly report exceptions; ensure equipment is maintained to Company and safety standards Safely perform all tasks and understand Company’s safety policies and procedures Participate in and practice 6S and Lean company initiative in the workplace Deliver a high-quality output consistent with the Company’s construction standards Operate Company vehicle Read and understand blueprints, schematics, procedures and company specific work orders, work instructions and floor plans provided Work outside in variable weather conditions Use both manual and power tools and follow operating guidelines Performs other duties as assigned “Must Haves” Prior experience in construction or related work required; basic electrical, plumbing, flooring and basic HVAC Ability to communicate with customers regarding work status and service concerns Valid driver’s license “Nice to Haves” Bilingual in Spanish a plus HVAC training and experience combined with an EPA certification preferred Special Considerations: Local travel and occasional overnight stays required May be required to drive extended distances to customer sites Position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain physical activity for most of the day Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold or lift a variety of objects Able to carry, bend, stoop, turn, kneel, crawl, climb a ladder and other manual labor activities Physical Requirements & Role Expectations Ability to work in office, field, customer site, and construction site environments with varying weather varying weather, noise, odor, dust, or fume conditions. Ability to physically perform installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection activities. Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods and bend, stoop, kneel, reach, crouch, crawl, climb stairs and ladders, use construction personnel hoists, and navigate uneven terrain throughout the workday. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to use visual and hearing acuity to inspect ongoing and completed work, equipment, and modular buildings and/or storage and office containers. Ability to safely operate motor vehicles and travel regularly to customer sites, inventory centers, and project locations. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, computers, tablets, and mobile devices requiring manual dexterity and coordination.
