Maintenance Assistant – NHC Health. Care Lexington Location: 2993 Sunset Blvd., West Columbia, SC Are you a hardworking, hands-on professional with a knack for keeping things running smoothly? NHC Health. Care Lexington is looking for a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to join our team! In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our facility is safe, comfortable, and well-maintained for our patients, residents, and staff.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities) Inspect, care for, maintain, and repair facility property, grounds, and equipment. Assist in planning and executing repair, maintenance, and new installation/construction projects.

Perform routine groundskeeping and heavy custodial duties. Monitor facility systems, ensuring everything functions safely and efficiently. Participate in a rotating on-call weekend schedule and respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls. What You Bring (Requirements & Skills) Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.

Familiarity with local building codes, ordinances, and safety regulations. Strong working knowledge of standard maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, including their proper care and safe usage. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and climb depending on the project. Must be capable of heavy lifting and moving.

Willingness and ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather.
