Writing Coach - Student Position

Sussex County Community College is seeking a part time Student Writing Consultant for our Writing Center. The Writing Center consutlant is a grant-funded position that develops exemplary academic support service that provide all students an opportunity to build on their writing skills to achieve success in the formal academic writing requirements for all disciplines.

This role will work within the Writing Center to facilitate conversation and feedback on all formal academic reading and writing assignments. They consult one on one with students and/or in triads. Candidates must show strong critical reading, thinking, and writing skills as evidenced by their GPA especially in English Composition I and II.

Keen interpersonal skills are also required. Prospective candidates must submit a writing sample at some point in the interview process. Candidates must be currently enrolled in Sussex County Community College, in a satisfactory academic standing.
