Travel Demand Modeling Intern - Traffic & Planning

Key Responsibilities
Construct, calibrate, analyze, test, and document inputs for travel demand models. Analyze socioeconomic data, household travel surveys, and origin-destination data under supervision. Assist with model validation against existing conditions to ensure accuracy and reliability. Support the team in preparing reports and presentations related to transportation modeling projects.
Collaborate with professionals across planning, engineering, and data analysis disciplines. Skills and Qualifications: Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or master’s program in Transportation Engineering . Preferred completion of the following courses or similar: CE392H & CRP384 (Urban Transportation Planning – Travel Demand Forecasting), CE 321 (Transportation Systems), and CE 391J (Transportation Planning: Methodology and Techniques).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with transportation modeling concepts and data analysis tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with GIS or transportation modeling software is a plus. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Self-motivated with a keen interest in transportation infrastructure and regional planning.
