Job Summary

The Telemetry Unit Secretary monitors patient telemetry for dysrhythmia and performs general clerical duties in the hospital nursing unit. Clerical duties include preparing, compiling and maintaining patient medical records, and triaging incoming calls and outgoing communication at the unit nursing station.

Job Responsibilities

Watch monitors for dysrhythmia and identify the rhythm strips at least every 12 hours and report any major arrhythmia to appropriate coordinator or designee.  Provide direction and assistance to visitors.  Assemble new patient charts, replace charting material, maintain organized medical records, and place computer lab sheets on the appropriate patient chart.
