After School K - 8th grade Teacher

Title: After School Tutor (Teacher) Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree w/ state approved teacher preparation program Reports To: Building Principal or designee FLSA Status: Exempt Performance Responsibilities: Instructs children in activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth needed for primary school by performing the following duties.

Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis. Teaches District approved curriculum daily. Develops lesson plans and instructional material and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil daily. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.

Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals daily. Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, etc.

and communicates these objectives to students. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities daily. Assists students in establishing and maintaining standards of behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere daily. Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports as appropriate and required.

Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and assists in developing strategies for individual education plans daily as needed. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner daily as needed.
