Job Details Food Service Assistant I – Patient Dining Services Join Christiana. Care's Food & Nutrition Services team and help ensure patients receive accurate, high-quality meals in a safe and sanitary environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble and deliver patient meal trays accurately and efficiently. Read and follow meal tickets, including modified and therapeutic diets. Replenish food supplies and maintain trayline operations. Operate and clean dishwashing, pot washing, and sanitation equipment. Follow food safety, infection prevention, and sanitation procedures.

Maintain clean work areas and properly handle waste disposal. Provide compassionate service while supporting Christiana. Care's values of Excellence and Love.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred (or currently enrolled in high school). Ability to read, write, and follow instructions. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and remain active throughout the shift. Work Environment: Fast-paced healthcare setting. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, cleaning chemicals, and food service equipment.

This position has a starting rate of $17.80 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.

90 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.93 per hour. This pay rate/range represents Christiana. Care’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
