Automation Technician

Description : The Automaton Technician will work as part of a cross functional team along side manufacturing to ensure that our ABB robotic trim cells are set up for new projects in a timely manner, as well as looking for improvements on existing trim cells. This role will be on site during production hours and available to make adjustments, and problem solve on the fly.

This role also involves developing procedural documentation, as well as designing and building mechanical fixturing and tooling. All activities are performed in coordination with the operation of rotary Thermoforming equipment.

Responsibilities

Write and modify robot programs Design and build robot cell fixturing Design and build EOAT Simulate robot systems Develop technical documentation Make necessary changes to achieve cycle time Document all changes to robot programs, fixtures and EOATs Program PLC's, robots, motion systems, and vision systems Set up communication with the PLC and peripheral equipment Robot zone setup Robot I/O Configuration Other duties as assigned Qualifications and Skills: Associates or Bachelor of Science in related field, or equivalent years of work experience Able to work independently on projects and as a member of a team Great motivational and people skills Must be self-motivated Must be willing to learn new things Ability to think outside the box Ability to read and understand Electrical and Pneumatic prints Exposure to ABB industrial robots, Rockwell/AB controls, HMI's sensors, and vision systems Troubleshooting experience with PLC programs Proficient with Robotic Path Teaching Extensive experience with Robot Studio and Solid.
