Cloud Migration Specialist

Department Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Role Level Mid to Senior (3–7 years of experience) Location UAE (Dubai / Abu Dhabi) We are seeking a skilled and results-driven Cloud Migration Specialist to join our growing Cloud & Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, planning, and executing end-to-end cloud migration projects across multi-cloud environments including Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, G42, and Oracle Cloud.

This role requires a strong understanding of Azure Landing Zones, Infrastructure as Code, and enterprise-grade migration methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Migration & Implementation

• Lead end-to-end workload migrations from on-premises VMware environments, AWS, and GCP to Microsoft Azure and multi-cloud platforms.
• Design and implement Azure Landing Zones aligned with organizational security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform workload discovery, dependency mapping, risk assessment, and cutover planning to minimize downtime.
• Execute lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and cloud-native transformation strategies.
• Migrate 500+ virtual machines leveraging Azure Migrate Appliance and related tooling. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
• Design and execute Disaster Recovery (DR) drills for critical applications using tools such as Rackware.
• Implement and manage hybrid and multi-cloud DR architectures integrating Azure with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle DRCC, and OCVS environments.
• Orchestrate DR failover and failback processes including network, security, and infrastructure cloning. Infrastructure as Code & Automation
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitLab to automate deployments and improve delivery efficiency.
• Standardize cloud deployments through reusable automation scripts and templates. Database & Storage Migration
• Lead database migration activities using Azure Database Migration Service (DMS) for SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL workloads.
• Implement storage and file replication solutions using Azure File Share and Azure Storage replication. Cloud Operations & Governance
• Optimize Azure networking, identity management, and security configurations.
• Containerize applications using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS) to improve scalability and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Prepare technical documentation including architecture diagrams, migration plans, and operational runbooks.

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills Experience

• 3–7 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, migration consulting, or DevOps roles.
• Proven track record of leading end-to-end cloud migration projects at enterprise scale.
• Experience working in government, healthcare, or large enterprise client environments preferred. Technical Skills
• Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure (primary), AWS, GCP, G42, Oracle Cloud (OCI/DRCC/OCVS)
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates
• Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (AKS / Azure Kubernetes Service)
• DevOps & CI/CD: Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD Pipelines
• Migration Tools: Azure Migrate Appliance, Rackware, Azure Database Migration Service (DMS)
• Databases: SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL
• Networking & Security: Azure Virtual Networks, NSGs, Firewalls, Identity Management (AAD/Entra ID)
• Scripting: Python, Bash, Power. Shell Certifications (Required / Preferred)
• AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (Required)
• AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator (Required)
• AZ-303 / AZ-304 / AZ-305: Azure Solutions Architect (Strongly Preferred)
• AWS / GCP / OCI certifications (Preferred) Nice to Have
• Experience with Oracle Cloud VMware Solution (OCVS) and Oracle DRCC environments.
• Exposure to UAE government cloud compliance frameworks (e.g., DoH, DGE, TRA regulations).
• Background in pre-sales, solutioning, or RFP/proposal development.
• Full-stack development experience (React, Node.js, MongoDB) for cloud-native application understanding.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and enterprise data warehouse implementations.
