Seasonal Catering Assistant Location: Yonkers, NY Hourly-Weekly basis pay Pay range: $18.25/hr. - $18.50/hr. Based on Experience & Qualifications What You’ll Do Catering Operations & Customer Experience Assist with soliciting, coordinating, and fulfilling catering orders for hundreds of customers annually, including large organizations and events Take orders, answer phones, and provide product recommendations Expand the catering customer base through outreach, business cards, menus, and email marketing Plan and execute catering events, both on-site and off-premise, for up to 600 guests Conduct site tours and coordinate logistics for off-premise events Coordinate delivery schedules with Security and outside staffing or rental companies Support cross-training initiatives to assist in other Salad Bar and Kitchen Department areas Team Support & Collaboration Work closely with the Catering team to ensure smooth workflow and operational efficiency Assist in training new team members and supporting department initiatives Provide feedback and suggestions for improving customer experience and sales Compliance & Safety Follow all health, sanitation, and safety guidelines for food preparation and catering operations Maintain clean, organized workspaces and assist with department cleaning projects Verify all products are properly labeled with the correct item and production date for customer safety Qualifications Culinary certification and/or hospitality degree preferred Sales experience and strong suggestive selling skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other proprietary systems Strong verbal, written, and customer service skills Ability to make sound decisions, solve problems, and negotiate effectively Flexible and willing to work weekends, holidays What You Bring Positive attitude and strong work ethic Team player with ability to collaborate and support others Reliable, honest, and self-motivated Eager to learn and cross-train in other areas of the department Strong organizational and problem-solving skills hy you’ll love working here!
