Part Time Tool Room Repair

Background within an Automotive environment. Fast paced and attention to detail while being a team player or working independently. Analyze specifications, lay out metal stock, set up and operate machine tools, and fit/assemble parts to repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists’ hand tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Observes and complies with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and OSHA requirements. Troubleshooting and repairs the dies in a stamping press and within the toolroom. Knowledge of tool steels for building, repairing, and welding components (TIG/MIG). Set and assemble details to build, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools using machines and hand tools.

Spot or polish details for nesting of parts and high wear surfaces with the use of die grinders. Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators. Knowledge of blueprints, GD&T, sketches, and models.

Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal workplace instructions. Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the supervisor/manager.

REQUIREMENTS

Active Journeyman card (preferred). Four-years’ experience with approved trade school. Must be self-motivated and have a strong attention to detail.
