Launch Your Career with Hands-On Laboratory Experience Are you studying Engineering, have a technical qualification, or are looking to build experience in a laboratory environment? We are looking for motivated individuals to join our SAR Laboratory team onsite in Basingstoke to support an exciting customer project starting in November 2026.

This opportunity is ideal for students seeking placement experience, recent graduates starting their careers, or individuals with qualifications such as A Levels, NVQs, HNCs, HNDs, or similar technical and engineering-related backgrounds who are looking to gain hands-on industry experience. As part of our SAR Laboratory team, you will support testing activities by setting up laboratory equipment, conducting tests, collecting and analysing data, and helping evaluate products against industry standards.

You'll have the opportunity to work with advanced testing equipment and contribute directly to customer projects. Assist with the setup, execution, and monitoring of laboratory tests. Build and adapt test setups and equipment to support project requirements. Operate laboratory equipment and measurement instruments under supervision.

Record, analyse, and document test results accurately. Prepare charts, graphs, and technical reports summarizing findings. Read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures. Examine customer samples and support product evaluations. Communicate with customers during test setup and operation to ensure successful test execution.

Maintain laboratory equipment and work areas in accordance with quality and safety standards. Collaborate with engineers and laboratory staff to support ongoing projects. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across laboratory operations Follow all safety, security, and compliance requirements, including the UL Code of Conduct.

Support additional laboratory activities as required. Ideal for individuals studying Engineering, holding a technical qualification, or seeking hands-on industry experience, a placement opportunity, or an entry-level role within the engineering sector. We also welcome applications from candidates studying at or recently graduated from technical colleges, including those with qualifications such as A Levels, NVQs, HNCs, HNDs, or similar technical and engineering-related backgrounds.

Effective communication skills and ability to interact with others Desire to work in a team-oriented environment Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must Ability for our laboratory shift 24/7, Monday through Sunday, therefore flexibility to work in shifts is required. Current shift pattern: Early Shift: 01:00 AM - 09:30 AM Day Shift: 09:00 AM - 05:30 PM Late Shift: 05:00 PM - 01:30 AM Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application.
