Substitute Health Services (Health Aide, CNA, LVN or RN)

Job Summary

The Substitute Health Aide, CNA, LVN or RN provides nursing services and student health support when regular school nursing staff are absent.

Responsibilities include

assessing student health needs, administering medications and treatments, responding to illnesses and injuries, maintaining accurate health records, and communicating with students, families, and school staff. The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, professional, and able to work effectively in a school environment.

Requirements

/ Qualifications EXPERIENCE: Two years of successful nursing experience in a health field.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or Equivalent. LICENSING: Must possess a current First Aid and CPR Certification. Current and valid Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license Important Notice: Effective January 1, 2026, under the Education Code section 44051 (California SB 848), applicants for noncertificated (classified) positions must list all prior employment with school districts, county offices of education, charter schools, and state special schools, regardless of duration, including full-time, part-time, and substitute work.
