Design Engineer - Mechanical
Job description
Our Design Engineer is responsible for mechanical design of MULTIVAC standard line of equipment and related components for the food, pharmaceutical , and consumer industries . This position is based in Kansas City, MO and requires onsite attendance five days per week. To be considered, candidates should reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Kansas City.
Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Independently d esign and engineer machine subsystems for MULTIVAC standard line of equipment for food, pharmaceutical , and consumer industries. Complete engineering models and drawings for customized packaging con figurations of package forming, sealing, cutting, support systems, and other subsystems of the machine assembly.
Analyze sales sketches, packaging specifications, and related sales order information to verify feasibility and identify all necessary component s required for new machine tooling and customer machine retrofits . Complete tasks efficiently and contribu te towards achieving departmental on-time delivery goals. Utilize and adapt MULTIVAC tools, methods , and processes to solve and design to meet c ustomer requirements and specifications .
Actively navigate, identify, and abide by MULTIVAC design standards and guidelines. Utilize the following technical programs: Solid. Works, Keytech, Creo, and SAP. Provide engineering services to other departments relating to the evaluation of components and assemblies, analyzing mechanical machine issue s , and m achine configuration support.
Provide technical or drafting support to package design and technical order processing. Collaborate internally for the design review process . Contribute towards achieving departmental quality goals.

Bachelor ’s Degree in mechanical engi neering or equivalent technical field. Previous experien ce in mechanical design and/or packaging industry preferred. Qualified candidates will be familiar with 3D modeling and 2D drafting , drawing databases , ERP software, and Microsoft Office products.
