Adjunct instructors join an interdisciplinary community of accomplished scholars and seasoned practitioners with expertise spanning strategy, organizational behavior, entrepreneurship, innovation, human resource management, operations, supply chain management, business law, and international management. Drawing on academic and professional experience, instructors create active and engaging learning experiences where students apply established frameworks to real organizational challenges and strengthen the judgment, leadership, teamwork, and ethical decision-making skills needed in a changing global landscape.

Management offers undergraduate and graduate programs, including a Bachelor of Science in Management, an MBA, and specialized minors and graduate certificates. Additional information about available classes can be found in the Management course descriptions .

Responsibilities

Teach assigned undergraduate or graduate management courses in accordance with established course objectives and academic standards Create an active, engaging, and supportive learning environment Connect management concepts and established frameworks with relevant organizational and business challenges Provide students with timely feedback and maintain regular communication throughout the course Collaborate with the department chair and faculty as appropriate Fulfill all responsibilities associated with the assigned course Qualifications: A minimum of a master’s degree in management, business, or a closely related field Academic or professional expertise relevant to the assigned course Prior college-level teaching experience is preferred Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills Commitment to fostering a collegial and supportive environment in which all members of the University community can thrive and succeed Application Instructions: Qualified applicants are invited to submit a letter of interest, current CV, statement of teaching philosophy, and relevant examples from courses taught (if applicable).

Upon offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to provide one formal letter of recommendation on professional letterhead and an official transcript reflecting their highest earned degree. Review of applications will be ongoing based on the needs of the department.

Compensation

& Benefits: The salary range for this position is $4,300–$5,400 per 3-credit course. Adjunct Instructors are not eligible to participate in the University’s employee health and welfare benefit programs; however, they are eligible to participate in Sacred Heart University’s 403(b) retirement plan, subject to the terms and eligibility requirements of the plan.
