Emergency Room Technician II

POSITION PURPOSE The Emergency Department Tech II position works alongside physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers to deliver safe, efficient and patient-centered care. This role is essential to ensuring the highest level of patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. This position offers an opportunity for growth and training in a supportive team setting.

Education

High school diploma or High School Equivalency Test (HSE) required. # Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications: Current valid Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate (EMT-I) certification in the State of New Mexico. Strong interpersonal and team building skills. Knowledge of EMT scope of practice in New Mexico.

Understanding of applicable laws of acute care operations such as EMTALA. Strong oral and written communication skills in dealing with a variety of individuals. Strong skill set with various computer and telecommunication devices. A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.

Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within six (6) months of hire. National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Training annually. Annual hospital-wide competencies and compliance education as assigned. # Preferred qualifications Proficiency in splint application.

Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
