Assistant Station Manager

Position Overview

The Assistant Station Manager is responsible for achieving the station sales plan and maximizing sales performance by driving consistent merchandising standards for national and local promotions and programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee DOT, trucking, and safety compliance for the station sales force, including Samsara monitoring and compliance documentation.
• Partner with Sales and Operations, the Division Sales Manager, and National Account leaders to ensure alignment on station priorities and execution.
• Ensure the station sales force fully utilizes technology tools and retail sales applications, including GoSpotCheck, handheld scanning devices, and other field equipment.
• Coordinate with the Station Manager on production scheduling, inventory availability, product allocation, and load list creation to support national and local account plans.
• Plan, order, allocate, and maintain merchandising resources, including racks, signage, sign holders, scanners, price guns, lumber, paint, and other field tools.
• Provide basic hardware and device support for field operations.
• Support performance management and maintain disciplinary documentation related to safety, trucking compliance, and shuttle driver performance.
• Coordinate cart returns and communicate quality issues, inventory gaps, and operational concerns to field teams.
• Assist with accident reporting and administration of the safety management system.
• Promote effective communication, collaboration, and accountability across the station team. Required Experience
• Minimum of 2 years of successful people management experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of in-store service or service management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Route sales experience within a direct store delivery (DSD) model.
• Experience working with live goods or seasonal product categories. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to adapt to and lead change within a dynamic organization. Work Environment This position operates in both indoor and outdoor environments. The employee will frequently be exposed to varying temperatures, humidity, noise levels, and outdoor weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Use hands, arms, and shoulders to handle and move materials.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Travel Minimal travel may be required for training, meetings, or other business needs. Work Schedule This position may require extended hours, weekend work, and schedule flexibility during peak seasonal periods, particularly during the spring selling season.
