FIXED TERM FULL TIME (3 MONTHS) $70,912.46 Gross per annum + Superannuation and Industry Allowance Our Values| Respect | Integrity | Teamwork | Service Excellence | Innovation About the Opportunity Council is seeking a Plant Operator on a 3-month seasonal contract with demonstrated ability to operate a variety of medium and heavy mechanical plant.
This position is based out of Council’s Heywood depot and offers a 9-day fortnight which provides a great work-life balance while contributing to essential community services. As part of the Works team, the Plant Operator is responsible for undertaking a range of civil construction and infrastructure maintenance works across the Shire.
The role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a range of plant to undertake tasks associated with the construction and maintenance of roads, drainage, paths, bridges, street furniture and general maintenance. What you need to Thrive A positive ‘can do’ attitude. Current Victorian Drivers Licence is essential. Heavy Combination Licence is highly regarded. Relevant Plant and Equipment tickets and licences. Basic computer skills. General knowledge and understanding of road construction and maintenance techniques. Demonstrated experience in safe and efficient operation of construction plant and specialist equipment.
Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Willingness and physical capacity to carry out key duties of the position including manual labour. Clear verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to learn new techniques and work practices.
