  • RWMC Shift Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 4x10’s Salary Grade: 21 Salary Range Min $160,805 Mid $206,090 Max $251,375 Position Purpose: Manage and provide technical expertise and oversight in the areas of Contractor Assurance (CAS) consistent with DOE Orders for DOE Corporate Operating Experience Program and Implementation of DOE Oversight Policy. Manage and provide oversight to the Project Evaluation Board (PEB) staff and program consistent with DOE Orders for Independent Oversight Program and Verification of Readiness to Start Up or Restart Nuclear Facilities and DOE-STD-3006-2010 (Planning and Conducting Readiness Reviews) to ensure proper and independent projects reviews are timely and nuclear facility start up protocols are followed. Develop and maintain internal programs to assure compliance with related DOE Orders and requirements, as well as performance metrics to analyze the effectiveness of CAS processes and implement actions for continuous improvement. Manage staff and interface with facility management, executive leadership, other support staff within and outside of the Safety Health Quality and Security organization.
  • Skill in interpreting regulations and establishing the means of meeting requirements in a diverse operational environment
  • Knowledge of quality improvement process tools and causal analysis
  • Demonstrated management and organizational skills, including project management
  • Ability to motivate and lead multidisciplinary personnel and act in a lead functional role in translating program requirements into floor level procedures and methods
  • Ability to provide daily direction to and oversight of both experienced and inexperienced personnel
  • Ability to mentor and lead peers and subordinates in the implementation and compliance with program requirements
  • Proficiency in adapting to changing priorities and pressures, and ability to work as a team member is necessary
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education/Experience): This comprehensive level of knowledge, skills, and abilities would be achieved through a combination of a Bachelor's degree in a related field along with a minimum of 7 years of experience, or equivalent. DOE contract experience with DOE Order 226.1 B is required. Previous experience or current certifications preferred with CAS program and requirements, along with formal causal analysis training. The U.S. Department of Energy’s' Idaho National Laboratory Site is a federal facility that performs work involving national security. As such, our jobs require U.S. citizenship.   • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE-Q Clearance; current clearance preferred
  • Formal causal analysis training preferred
  • Must be willing and able to work at INL Site facilities Position Responsibilities: CAS and PEB program management, oversight, and improvements. Interface with management and technical staff. Metric development, trending and assessment. Reviews of internal and external products. DOE interface. Internal development, review and actions.
