Banquet Lead Cook

• Morton, MN, Position Type: Full-Time, Salary Range: $18.50 - $36.81Hourly, Job Shift: Varies (+Weekends), ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Competently operate all stations in the buffet as assigned (both front and back of house). Take responsibility for all food produced by the Banquet kitchen. Train all new cooks at any and all stations as needed. Prepare food for banquet menus. Handle banquet food plating and presentation. Take direction from the Banquet Chef. Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen. Assume a leadership role in the kitchen. Provide a consistently high level of service. Identify issues and suggest potential solutions. Promote an atmosphere of teamwork. Ensure that all Banquet staff members remain busy and motivated. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Experience in a full-service restaurant required. Experience with buffet food and banquets preferred, but not required. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES Adaptable and willing to embrace change. Able to connect and establish relationships with guests and team members. Quality-focused. Cheerful, upbeat attitude.

Strong communication skills. Organized and efficient. Excellent knife skills. Able to work with very little supervision. Able to meet multiple deadlines. Self-motivated. Strong culinary knowledge. Strong skill level at all cooking stations. Strong teaching skills. Excellent knowledge and use of sanitation practices. Able to work under stressful conditions.

UNIVERSAL REQUIREMENTS Sensitivity to various cultures, including Native American cultures. Regular attendance and punctuality. Able and willing to work any changes in scheduled hours as required. Serve as a credit to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel, and encourage others to do the same. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Mobility throughout the facility.

Able to lift 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Able to stand for long periods of time. Able to tolerate heat. Good coordination and manual dexterity.
