Job description

POSITION : High School Boys Tennis Coach QUALIFICATION : Valid CPR Certification Valid State of Ohio Pupil Activity Permit Successfully completed the NFHS Coaching certification Successfully completed Signs of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (Lindsay's Law) certification Prior coaching experience and knowledge of tennis preferred DUTIES : Coordinate and supervise tennis program and team.

Promote an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship. Design a training program to improve tennis strokes/techniques. Evaluate player performance and provide suggestions during/after meets to improve performance. Ensure players are educated on the rules of tennis. Ensure that all athletic activities conform to OHSAA guidelines.

Communicate all schedules/schedule changes to the home golf course manager. Work effectively with community organizations to generate additional monies for the program. Responsible for assisting the Athletic Director with game schedules, practice schedules and transportation. Attend OHSAA rules meetings (in-person or online).

Develop team rules/expectations and communicate them to players and families and enforce them. Notify media final scores and newsworthy items to promote student accomplishments. Ensure students complete all athletic forms on Final Forms. Ensure hard copies of student physical forms are provided to the athletic office.

Be responsible for following district guidelines for purchasing items, maintaining a budget, inventory and care of equipment. Submit a complete roster to the athletic department. Ensure the continual supervision of student athletes on the court, in conditioning and in locker facilities. Ensure all health and safety precautions are observed during all activities.

Immediately report all major injuries incurred during practice sessions or competition to the Athletic Director and trainer. Provide an end of the season recognition/banquet for the students to pass out varsity letters, certificates and trophies. Abide by the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the Warren Board of Education.

Adhere to other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or his designee.
